Cassette Chronicles started in 2022 with the dead media object of interest: the Sony DCR-HC30 MiniDV. This camera has witnessed my childhood from the day I was born. For me, this object was time itself, and I decided to continue using it despite its age. The tape rewrites the meaning of the location by revisiting it one year later.
Time overrides memory. It also revisits the same place with the same people; there is no past and there is no future: there is only now and the temporality of memory. The spontaneous interviews discuss and reminisce on what remains.

The Video Essay
The aim of Cassette Chronicles is never about reminiscing about the past, but more like retelling it depending on the eye of today with delayed editing. Every chapter has repetitions of the same locations, which shows how time is a glitch itself. It emphasizes the changing conditions: individuals sometimes maturing, sometimes becoming even more immature.
