Title: Glow-up Love
Medium: Mix media (Oil and acrylic paint)
Size: 50 x 70 cm
Size: 50 x 70 cm
Intention: Inspired by Alexandra Levasseur’s style, this painting depicts the story of self-love. As the moon shines bright with its feminine energy, it supports the girl. She slowly gains her energy and slowly starts glowing in the middle of a shallow pond. By bringing flowers from completely different biomes and making them bloom near her light, I wanted to emphasize the miracle of self-love. The dark corners and distant dead branches represent the negativity trying to take her over. But by holding and comforting herself she overcomes the challenge and forms a new attitude.
Title: Soulmates
Medium: Mix media (Oil paint, acrylic paint)
Size: 80 x 120 cm
Size: 80 x 120 cm
Intention: This piece depicts a relationship of two souls which complete each other. They reach out to each other but are not quite able to touch because different forces drive them away. Fluid transitions of colors in the background are inspired by the merging of two black holes. The opposite motion and colors also refer to the dynamic of yin and yang. Their bond is beyond the boundaries of gender and the pink Venus supports their reunion. I wanted to tell a story of two souls finding and holding onto each other as they float in an endless space.
Title: The Cosmic Charm
Medium: Mix media (Gold leaf, Oil paint, acrylic paint, metallic acrylic paint and calligraphy pen)
Size: Diameter 70 cm
Size: Diameter 70 cm
Intention: In this piece I used a mandala to create the sense of supreme cosmic power. Gold leaf shines to emphasize this sacred power. The energy connection between the woman and the Celtic sun depicts how their relationship affects the flow of life and how she achieves pure bliss because she has acknowledged the alchemy behind every astrological symbol. Her soul reaches a higher state of consciousness and she recharges. Bright warm colors support the sense of a rich peak of productivity, mindfulness and wisdom.
Title: God’s eye: The Universe
Medium: Oil paint
Size: 150 x 120 cm
Size: 150 x 120 cm
Intention: This piece is a complete iris that many galaxies and stars create. It is inspired by the idea of how every human iris structure looks like a whole different universe. It supports the belief that everything complete is god and "god" is a part of everything. I tried to focus on the beauty of infinity by combining all the colourful galactic substances and integrating them with each other. The gravitational pull towards the black hole in the middle of the iris is strengthened by the different distances of the planets.
Title: The Beginning of End
Medium: Oil Paint
Size: Diameter 75 cm
Size: Diameter 75 cm
Intention: Inspired by the Macabre horror art, this piece tells a story of a metamorphosis. Gothic visible changes reflect a reincarnation meaning death is not an end and is just the beginning of a beautiful new creation. This "death" also symbolizes a psychological death as well. It might also be a turning point in life. Her exposed organs and rib cage pictures ugly "death" but then details transform into beauty and regenerate. Her sad expression contrasts with flowers blooming indicating that after a long fight the wounds will heal and strength will be gained back again.
Title: Drowning Rings
Medium: Soft Pastel
Size: 50 x 70 cm
Size: 50 x 70 cm
Intention: In this piece I aimed to illustrate a liminal state of sadness and loneliness. Compared to the previous artworks, this one holds a negative side of identity. In astrology, the planet Saturn symbolizes restriction and limitation. Its rings create a void in which the figure loses itself. The rings are so close, so vibrant, it surrounds and drown the boy. I wanted to show the idea of how our thoughts limit and drown us and how they cause a heavy atmosphere, slowly pulling us down. By blending unusual colours and making soft transitions I tried to pass on the feeling of desperation to the viewer.
Title: Mars Rage
Medium: Mix media (Oil and acrylic paint)
Size: 60 x 80 cm
Size: 60 x 80 cm
Intention: On a Vaporwave inspired 3D plane, figures are illustrated with a perspective that emphasizes hurtful situations. Alive Greek sculptures represent the shattered people indicating how fragile humans can be and easily broken. By using a 3 point perspective I wanted to add a dramatic effect to the sudden action that caused destruction. Mars enhances all the heat; frustration, fear, anger and shock. The boiling feelings slowly ascend from the background and the consequences lie at one's feet, creating a heartbreaking environment.
